Report: Limited Edition Xbox launches Black Friday for €900 1

French publication (and serial leakers) Dealabs has reported that a limited edition Xbox Series X, the transparent green "X25" model that was announced back in June, will arrive in time for Black Friday in Europe.

According to the report, the Xbox Series X25 will reportedly retail for €899.99, which ought to translate to around $900 to $1000 in the US and £800 to £900 in the UK. By comparison, the standard Xbox Series X is currently retailing for €800 in Europe, making this a €100 premium. For context, the standard Series X costs £670 via the Microsoft Store UK and $898 via Amazon US.

The X25 model comes with the same 1TB of storage and disc drive as the standard Xbox Series X model. The controller that comes with the X25 comes in a matching transparent green plastic, naturally.

The X25 is set to launch on November 27th, according to the Dealabs report, though it's not clear whether this will be accompanied by a pre-order period or not. Black Friday week kicks off on Monday the 23rd, though many retailers now start their promotions from the start of the month.

It'll be interesting to see how many Xbox owners choose to pick up a special edition model. The X25 does look great from the renders, but it comes late into the console's lifetime and presumably costs significantly more than planned due to the ongoing AI-driven flash memory price crisis.

The X25 announcement may come at Gamescom next week, where Microsoft is also reportedly planning a collaboration with Ikea. Their Elite Series 3 controller and cloud controller have also leaked over the past few months.
